UAE-Led Global Operation Traces More Than $39 Billion in Scam-Linked Funds, Leading to 960+ Arrests

Guardii Analysis

Operation Confrontation Ghost, a UAE-led international law enforcement initiative conducted between July and September 2026, resulted in more than 960 arrests across 30 countries and identified over 15,500 victims of AI-enabled fraud and technology-facilitated sextortion. The operation, coordinated with INTERPOL, the Global Anti-Scam Alliance and technology companies, targeted criminal networks operating across borders, seized assets worth 39 billion dollars, raided 29 fraud centres, and exchanged more than 9,000 pieces of intelligence to dismantle groups deploying artificial intelligence to create convincing fake identities and scalable scam operations.

Real-time detection modules designed to identify coercion, payment demands and escalating threats in private messaging conversations could intercept sextortion attempts at the moment of contact, before a victim is manipulated into sharing material or making a payment. Guardii, a Meta Business Partner and AI-driven online-safety platform backed by Startmate, offers anti-sextortion detection that flags hostile contact patterns across Instagram, Snapchat, Discord, Roblox and other platforms, surfacing children in crisis to parents or authorities and enabling rapid escalation without requiring anyone to read the content of every message, addressing the harm that multi-national operations like Confrontation Ghost are mobilised to disrupt.
