1. What these terms cover

These terms are the agreement between you and Guardii for the Guardii apps on iOS and Android, the guardii.ai website and the services behind them. Creating an account means you accept them. The Privacy Policy and the Research Data Agreement are separate documents; the app asks you to accept all three, and each is versioned on its own.

This version is a draft. It has not had a legal review, and it will change before launch. The version identifier at the bottom of the page is what your account records when you accept.

2. Who can hold an account

Anyone can create an account. What the account can do depends on the age band you declare when you set it up, and Guardii asks for the band only; it never asks for a birthday.

Guardii relies on the band you declare. Declaring a band that is not yours breaks the consent that protects you and the people around you, and we may close an account when we find that has happened.

• Under 13: a guardiian who is an adult agrees on your behalf, and you agree too, in your own words, before protection starts.
• 13 to 17: you sign, and an adult guardiian co-signs. Protection starts when both signatures exist.
• 18 or older: you sign for yourself.

3. Your account

Every account has a verified email address. It is how we reach you and how you get back in if you lose access; if you sign in with Apple and hide your email, the relay address Apple gives us is the address on the account.

An account belongs to one person. Keep your credentials to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used them.

You can delete your account from the app. Deleting it removes your protection choices, your guardiian relationships and the data we hold about you, subject to the retention rules in the Privacy Policy.

4. Guardiians

A guardiian is someone you choose. Nobody is assigned to you, and pairing with a guardiian on its own gives them nothing: their role starts when the consent that names them is complete.

A guardiian sees pattern summaries and coverage, which apps are connected and which are not. There is no screen anywhere in Guardii that shows a guardiian your messages. You see everything a guardiian sees, first or at the same moment.

You can remove a guardiian at any time. Removal is quiet: the former guardiian's view goes idle without announcing why.

A guardiian who becomes involved in a concern is routed around automatically. No setting turns that off.

5. What Guardii does

Guardii runs on your phone. It reads the supported apps you connect, looks for patterns of harm such as grooming, bullying and coercion, and shows you and your guardiians what it found as summaries. Analysis happens on the device.

Coverage is shown as an honest count, for example 6 of 8 apps, across four states: live, unknown, disconnected and paused. Guardii never shows a green all-clear, because it cannot see what it is not connected to.

Guardii is a protective tool. It is not an emergency service, it does not guarantee that harm will be caught, and it is not a substitute for talking to someone you trust. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services where you are.

6. What leaves your phone

On their own, our servers receive pattern, severity and confidence, stripped of personal detail. They do not receive message content, and our cloud models never see a message.

Message content leaves your phone only inside an evidence package that you build, under the consent ceremony for your age band, for the recipients the consent names. The package is sealed to those recipients, and you receive a receipt every time it is opened.

7. Consent, renewal and withdrawal

Nothing is analysed until the consent for your age band is in place. Consent is recorded against a specific version of the words you agreed to; when those words change in a way that matters, the app asks again.

You can withdraw at any time from the app. Withdrawal stops analysis immediately. An evidence package already in a recipient's hands is governed by the consent it was built under.

Consent also expires on a schedule and is renewed in the app. We tell you before it lapses.

8. Acceptable use

Guardii exists to protect the person whose phone it runs on. Installing it on someone else's phone without their knowledge and the consent this document describes is a misuse, and we may close accounts involved in it and cooperate with the authorities where the law requires.

Do not interfere with the service, probe it for weaknesses without our written agreement, or use it to harass anyone.

9. Our commitments and their limits

We work to keep the service available and accurate, and we tell you when something changes that affects your protection. We do not promise uninterrupted service or that every pattern of harm will be detected.

To the extent the law allows, Guardii is not liable for loss that results from something the service did not detect, from a platform blocking a connector, or from a guardiian's or a recipient's actions after they received what the consent released.

The final wording of this section is subject to legal review.

10. Ending the service

You can stop using Guardii whenever you like: pause or disconnect an app, withdraw consent, or delete the account.

We may suspend or close an account for misuse under section 8, or when the law requires it. Where we can, we tell you why.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and disputes are heard in its courts. The contracting entity, its registration and its address are to be confirmed in the reviewed version.

12. Changes to these terms

Each version of these terms carries an identifier and an effective date. A change that affects what you agreed to produces a new version, and the app asks you to accept it before you continue. Older versions stay available on request.
