Operation Muddy Waters, a coordinated two-week enforcement effort across Mississippi from July 20–31, resulted in 61 arrests and rescued one child from an active sextortion scheme. Led by Attorney General Lynn Fitch, federal Homeland Security Investigations, and the U.S. Attorneys for Mississippi's Northern and Southern Districts, the operation arrested 13 individuals on child-exploitation charges and 48 registered sex offenders for non-compliance with registry requirements. Authorities seized over 50 electronic devices, executed more than eight search warrants, and secured three immigration detainers during the operation.
