FBI warns of 'gore groups' exploiting children after missing teen found in Oregon
Guardii Analysis
FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that a 15-year-old girl missing for more than 500 days from Utah was recovered in Oregon on November 1, 2026, in a case linked to online gore groups such as 764 that use threats, peer pressure and blackmail to coerce children aged 10 to 17 into creating and sharing images and videos depicting self-harm, sexual abuse, animal abuse and other extreme material. The bureau has made dismantling the 764 network a priority following more than 1,300 reports received by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in August 2025 and an FBI investigation into more than 300 connected cases by November 2025, with Patel warning that the FBI and its partners are using every available tool to combat nihilistic violent extremism and protect children.
Pattern-based detection could have surfaced this child to authorities before she disappeared. Guardii works by identifying escalation and coercion in direct-message conversations across platforms including Roblox, Discord, Instagram and Snapchat, flagging hostile contact before it reaches the target rather than waiting for a completed transaction. Its anti-grooming and anti-sextortion detection modules track sustained targeting, isolation and demands for self-documentation, reporting the shape and seriousness of a conversation to a parent, school or professional while preserving the privacy of compliant users, and enabling rapid escalation to the right authority when a child is in acute danger. In cases of manipulation by organised networks such as 764, early visibility into coercive messaging patterns offers the operational window needed to intervene before harm escalates offline.
