95 arrested in operation targeting distribution of child sexual abuse material
Guardii Analysis
INTERPOL announced on 15 October 2026 that coordinated operations across 17 countries in Latin America and Europe resulted in 95 arrests, 127 search warrants, and the rescue of a five-year-old victim whose parent had been producing and selling abuse material online since the child was one year old. The operation, named International Effort Confluencia, ran between March and September 2026 and targeted networks using encrypted messaging applications and cryptocurrency to distribute and monetise child sexual abuse material; in Argentina investigators identified a suspect who contacted more than 260 girls demanding explicit images in a sustained sextortion campaign, while in Panama police arrested the administrator of a distribution group with over 700 members. Investigators in five countries discovered that some group members requesting and sharing material were themselves adolescents.
The pattern this operation exposes, sustained contact across borders with hundreds of potential victims over encrypted channels, is precisely the threat model Guardii addresses. As a Meta Business Partner operating across multiple platforms, Guardii deploys real-time anti-sextortion and anti-grooming detection that surfaces escalating coercion, repeated targeting, and the distribution of abuse material within direct messages before law enforcement must reconstruct the contact chain months later from seized devices. The system flags a child in acute distress to a parent, school counsellor or agency in time to prevent further harm, and enables rapid escalation to the appropriate authority when a conversation meets criminal thresholds. Where traditional investigations begin after material has circulated and hundreds of victims have been contacted, Guardii detects the threatening pattern at first contact, interrupting the offender's access and surfacing the child most at risk to those with a duty of care.
