Victorian schools to pilot Let's Stop Bullying campaign tools
Guardii Analysis
The Victorian Department of Education has announced that 120 schools across the state will pilot resources from the federal Let's Stop Bullying campaign during term one of 2027, with a focus on helping students recognise and report cyberbullying. The pilot program includes classroom materials, parent information sessions and a dedicated reporting portal, and forms part of Victoria's response to the national Anti-Bullying Rapid Review, which found that many students do not report online harassment until it has escalated significantly.
Campaign materials that encourage students to recognise and report abuse rely on the child's willingness and capacity to disclose harm after it has occurred, and evidence suggests that most victims delay reporting or remain silent. Technology that operates independently of the victim's own disclosure provides continuous detection without requiring a child in distress to take action. Guardii, a world-leading AI online-safety platform and Meta Business Partner, monitors conversation patterns for sustained targeting, coercion and escalation across Instagram, Snapchat, Discord and Roblox, alerting parents and school safeguarding teams to cyberbullying in progress and surfacing children at acute risk before they choose or are able to report, addressing the delay and silence that undermine reporting-dependent frameworks.
