A 39-year-old man from Bolton has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for creating and distributing AI-generated child sexual abuse material, in what prosecutors describe as one of the UK's first convictions involving deepfake CSAM. The offender used publicly available machine-learning tools to generate realistic abuse imagery, which he then shared in encrypted online forums.
