Queensland schools trial enhanced anti-bullying measures under updated state policy

Queensland Education is piloting enhanced anti-bullying protocols in fifty state schools following a review of cyberbullying incidents, with measures including mandatory reporting pathways for online harassment and dedicated student wellbeing officers. The trial, which runs until the end of 2026, aims to test approaches that can be incorporated into the state's anti-bullying framework and inform Queensland's contribution to the national review of school safety policies announced by the federal government.

Structural reporting pathways depend on incidents being recognised and escalated by students, parents or staff, often after harm has already occurred and a child is in distress. Detection technology that surfaces threat patterns as they develop can close that gap: Guardii's cyberbullying filter analyses conversation dynamics in real time across Discord, Instagram and other messaging services, identifying coercion and sustained targeting and flagging a child in crisis to a school wellbeing officer or parent, enabling rapid escalation to the appropriate authority in an emergency without requiring the child to self-report.
