Queensland Education updates Bullying. No Way! resources ahead of national framework review

Queensland's Department of Education on 11 September 2026 released updated classroom resources and parent guides under the national Bullying. No Way! initiative, timed to align with the federal Anti-Bullying Rapid Review and the refresh of the National Safe Schools Framework. The materials include age-appropriate lesson plans on recognising cyberbullying, bystander intervention and reporting pathways, and emphasise whole-of-school approaches involving parents, with schools directed to promote the resources during term four wellbeing weeks and to integrate them into the existing Respectful Relationships curriculum.

Education and bystander training equip students to recognise and report harm, yet cyberbullying in direct messages often occurs in one-to-one or small-group threads where there are no bystanders and disclosure carries social risk. Technology that detects harmful patterns at the point of contact removes reliance on a child's willingness or capacity to report: an AI platform that analyses private conversations for sustained targeting, coercion and escalation across Instagram, Snapchat, Discord and other services can surface a student in crisis to a parent or school automatically, ensuring that intervention does not depend on the victim breaking silence or a peer witnessing abuse.
