Police arrests 95 suspects in international CSAM crackdown action

Guardii Analysis

INTERPOL coordinated International Effort Confluencia, a four-phase operation running from March to September 2026 across 17 countries in Latin America and Europe that resulted in 95 arrests, 127 search warrants executed, and the rescue of a five-year-old victim whose parent had been producing and selling abuse material. The operation targeted criminal networks distributing child sexual abuse material through online messaging groups, with investigators in Ecuador recovering more than 4,000 files totaling approximately 15 gigabytes of abuse imagery from seized devices, and authorities in Panama apprehending the administrator of a messaging group with over 700 members.

Detecting material before distribution requires platform-level intervention at the moment of upload or transmission. Guardii operates as an interception layer across messaging and social platforms, scanning direct-message exchanges and content shares in real time with a dedicated anti-CSAM detection module that identifies abuse material including AI-generated and deepfake imagery, flags the sender to platform moderators and law enforcement, and blocks transmission to the intended recipient. By intercepting distribution at the point of contact rather than relying solely on retrospective reporting, targeted detection reduces the volume of material entering circulation and surfaces producers to investigators before networks scale to hundreds of participants across multiple jurisdictions.
