NSW Education Department rolls out updated cyberbullying protocols following Let's Stop Bullying campaign
Guardii Analysis
New South Wales has released revised cyberbullying intervention protocols for its 2,200 public schools, building on the federal Let's Stop Bullying campaign launched earlier this year. The updated guidance requires schools to document all reported incidents of online harassment, establish dedicated response teams, and collaborate with parents when bullying extends to social media platforms, with training modules for teachers to be completed by December 2026.
When incidents occur in encrypted or ephemeral messaging channels that elude retrospective investigation, the operational window has already closed. A Meta Business Partner, Guardii operates upstream, detecting harmful conversational patterns including sustained targeting, escalation and coercion as they develop in children's direct messages, reporting the severity and shape of risk rather than exposing message content, and alerting the responsible adult before harm solidifies into a documented incident requiring formal response.
