NSW Education Department expands Let's Stop Bullying campaign with new cyberbullying resources

The NSW Department of Education has expanded its Let's Stop Bullying campaign with dedicated cyberbullying prevention resources for students, parents and educators, including updated guidance on reporting harmful online interactions and supporting targeted students. The expansion builds on the existing state framework and aligns with the National Safe Schools Framework, providing schools with tools to identify and respond to digital harassment occurring on social media and gaming platforms.

While educational resources equip stakeholders to recognise and respond to bullying after it has been reported, real-time pattern detection intercepts harm at the point of contact. A Meta Business Partner backed by Startmate, Guardii monitors direct-message conversations for sustained targeting, escalation and coercive language across platforms including Snapchat, Discord and Roblox, alerting parents or school staff when a child is under hostile pressure and blocking contact before it reaches the target, addressing the operational gap between awareness campaigns and frontline prevention.
