New York State Police Arrest Eight in Multi-Agency Online Child Exploitation Operation

The New York State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, along with the FBI, Computer Crime Unit, Special Investigations Unit and Homeland Security Investigations, conducted a two-day online child exploitation operation in Onondaga County on August 27 and 28, 2026. During the investigation, officers arrested eight individuals who were attempting to engage in unlawful contact with children under the age of 15. All eight were charged with Attempted Rape in the Second Degree, a Class E felony.

Proactive detection shifts the burden from reactive enforcement to prevention at first contact.
