Let's Stop Bullying campaign relaunched with focus on online harms

Guardii Analysis

The Australian Government has relaunched the Let's Stop Bullying campaign with updated messaging and resources that place cyberbullying and online harms at the centre of national prevention efforts. The refreshed campaign includes new materials for parents, students and educators on recognising and responding to harassment in social media direct messages, gaming platforms and group chats, and is explicitly linked to the recommendations of the recent Anti-Bullying Rapid Review and the National Framework.

Recognition is necessary but insufficient when harm unfolds in real time and at scale in environments parents and schools cannot directly observe. The platform detects cyberbullying patterns as they emerge in children's direct messages across Instagram, Snapchat, Discord and Roblox, blocking or flagging hostile contact before it reaches the child and alerting a parent or school professional when a conversation shows signs of sustained targeting or escalation. Guardii operates as an early-warning system that translates campaign awareness into point-of-contact prevention, surfacing a child in crisis without requiring parents to monitor message content and enabling the rapid, informed response the campaign materials advocate.
