Interpol arrests 300 in global operation targeting online child sexual abuse

Guardii Analysis

Interpol has announced the arrest of more than 300 individuals across 35 countries following a coordinated operation targeting online child sexual exploitation, with law enforcement identifying 65 new victims and dismantling networks using encrypted messaging applications and peer-to-peer file-sharing services to distribute child sexual abuse material. The operation, conducted in partnership with national police forces and the US Homeland Security Investigations, highlights the migration of offenders to platforms with weaker content moderation and the scale of cross-border coordination required to investigate and prosecute such crimes.

Large-scale enforcement operations depend on intelligence that surfaces offenders and victims before networks are fully established. An AI platform monitoring children's direct messages in real time across Instagram, Snapchat, Discord and Roblox—Guardii's operational scope—detects grooming, sextortion and child sexual abuse material including deepfake and AI-generated imagery at the initial point of contact, enabling immediate intervention by the parent, school or safeguarding team and rapid escalation to the appropriate authority when criminal activity is evident, compressing the window between first approach and enforcement response.
