Federal government launches anti-bullying rapid review after spate of youth suicides

The Australian federal government has commissioned an urgent anti-bullying rapid review following a series of youth suicides linked to bullying and cyberbullying. Education Minister Jason Clare announced the review will examine the effectiveness of existing frameworks including the national Safe and Supportive School Communities framework and the Let's Stop Bullying campaign, with findings expected before the end of 2024. The review will consult state and territory education departments, principals, teachers, parents and students to identify gaps in current protections and recommend improvements.

Detection that intercepts harm at the point of contact addresses risks that framework reviews and national campaigns cannot reach alone.
