Bullying is harder to spot than you think: New national campaign to stop school bullying
Guardii Analysis
The Australian Government launched a 10 million dollar national Let's Stop Bullying campaign following the 2025 Anti-Bullying Rapid Review, which found that one in four students in Years 4 to 9 experience bullying regularly and that reports of cyberbullying to the eSafety Commissioner increased by 455 percent between 2019 and 2024. The campaign centres on the LetsStopBullying.gov.au website offering free resources for young people, parents and school communities, and all Australian schools must publish anti-bullying policies aligned with the National Framework for Addressing Bullying in Australian Schools by Term 1 2027, alongside implementing a two-school-day response rule.
Awareness campaigns and mandated response timeframes address institutional accountability but operate after a child has already been targeted. Real-time detection intercepts harm at the point of contact, before escalation begins. Guardii's anti-cyberbullying module monitors conversation patterns across Instagram, Snapchat, Discord and Roblox to identify sustained targeting, coercion and escalation as they occur, flagging hostile contact before it reaches the target and surfacing a child in distress to a parent or school within minutes rather than days, converting a reporting obligation into active prevention.
