A Wyoming woman has joined a class action lawsuit against xAI after her stepfather used the Grok AI chatbot to generate more than 7,000 sexually explicit deepfake images from a photograph taken when she was 11 years old. The stepfather shared and traded these images with others on social media platforms before law enforcement raided his devices for child sexual abuse material; two days later he died by suicide. The lawsuit alleges xAI submitted only the original authentic image to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and did not provide the thousands of Grok-generated images when law enforcement requested them.
